The Big Island of Hawaii is known for its crystal clear waters, the amazing variety of fish, an abundance of green sea turtles, manta rays, white-tip reef sharks and many varieties of dolphins and whales. Scuba diving from Kona Village could not be easier and our team is PADI 5 Star Certified. Our Dive Valet will assist with all scuba gear and arrange for all cleaning after your dive. Our dive boat leaves straight from the beach so you don’t spend any time driving to a marina.
Shore Dive
- Led by an experienced dive instructor, departing from our beach to the breathtaking reef surrounding Kona Village
- Approximately 1 hour, 2 person minimum
- A basic introduction to SCUBA in a shallow pool where participants learn how to breathe underwater while playing various games
- This program introduces children ages 8 and up to scuba diving while in the safe and fun environment of our Shipwrecked Pool.
- 1.5 hours, 2 person minimum
- A program for non-certified guests without having to complete a full certification course
- Includes a brief lecture, a pool session, and an exciting shore dive
- 2 to 3 hours, 2 person minimum

- Pool: Must complete 1 day prior to boat / shore dives
- Ocean: Must complete 1 day prior to boat / shore dives
- For those who have already enrolled in a SCUBA program at home and completed the academic and pool work portion of their course.
- 4 open water check out dives

- Upon successful completion you will receive a PADI Open Water Diver certification

Kukuna Kai Scuba Dive Trips:
One Tank Dives
- Guided early morning tours aboard our dive boat and shoreline dives from our beach are offered. 1 hour
- Morning and afternoon trips aboard our dive boat take divers to some of the more than 20 dive sites available within minutes of our shore.
This program allows non-certified divers to experience the thrill of scuba diving in the protected environment of Kahuwai Bay. Upon program completion, divers are eligible to sign up for one and two tank guided dives aboard our dive boat. 2.5 hours
Scooter/Dive Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)
For an unforgettable and thrilling ride add a DPV to any guided dive. Save energy and save air while the DPV does all the work as you cruise above stunning reefs and underwater lava formations.
